Departmental Functions includes;

1. To assess and carryout curative/ rehabilitative management of patients
2. To run specialty clinics
3. To encourage clinical researches and publications
4. To offer clinical training of students from Yobe State University
5. To train intern Physiotherapist
6. To participate in community-based rehabilitation services.

Type of services rendered.

a. Referral system

• Referral by the hospital physician
• Referral from other hospitals within and outside Yobe State.

For outpatient: Acceptance of Referrals, Assessment of Patients, Planning and implementation of the treatment procedures, booking of appointment, follow up and Discharge of Patients.

For inpatient: Acceptance of Referrals, Assessment of Patients in the ward, Planning and implementation of the treatment procedures, daily physiotherapy services, communication with the nurses on ward program and patient education, and lias with Referring Doctor upon discharge of Patients for continuing physiotherapy on outpatient basis.
